KatieHolmesLIVE: Well, thank you so much for that for the complement.
KatieHolmesLIVE: The two mediums are very different
KatieHolmesLIVE: What I like about the television schedule
KatieHolmesLIVE: is that it is very stable.
KatieHolmesLIVE: It's usually a 12 hour day, and it's fast paced,
KatieHolmesLIVE: and I can pace myself very easily
KatieHolmesLIVE: because I have been doing that for so long.
KatieHolmesLIVE: Movies are a bit different...
KatieHolmesLIVE: very much slower paced,
KatieHolmesLIVE: you can have a 12 hour day or a 16 hour day or longer,
KatieHolmesLIVE: and everything takes a longer amount of time
KatieHolmesLIVE: you can shoot 1 scene for 2 days...
KatieHolmesLIVE: or you can 7 scenes in 2 days on the show.
KatieHolmesLIVE: You can put more time and thought
KatieHolmesLIVE: into scenes on a movie,
KatieHolmesLIVE: it's not so instinctual.
KatieHolmesLIVE: For that reason,
KatieHolmesLIVE: I think I prefer the film pace,

KatieHolmesLIVE: I would probably would be doing what everyone else would
KatieHolmesLIVE: be doing, just earned my college education,

KatieHolmesLIVE: on Abandoned, because it was such a great
KatieHolmesLIVE: feeling doing something that worked
KatieHolmesLIVE: so hard to make happen, to accomplish.
KatieHolmesLIVE: A lot of preparation was put into the role,
KatieHolmesLIVE: so the pay-off was very great.

KatieHolmesLIVE: My biggest fear is living with being content with my life.
KatieHolmesLIVE: I think it's better to try something and fall flat on your
face
KatieHolmesLIVE: then to not try something..
KatieHolmesLIVE: so essentially settling.

Question: Are there any simularities between Joey Potter and your character,
Question: Catherine Burke, from 'Abandon'?
KatieHolmesLIVE: Well, yes, I think Katherine is a esteem version Joey,
KatieHolmesLIVE: they're both very driven, but Katie takes it a step further.
KatieHolmesLIVE: Joey has an easier time dealing with her angst then Katie.
KatieHolmesLIVE: And I think Katie is a big deeper then Joey..
KatieHolmesLIVE: A bit crazier, and a bit more heartbroken.

KatieHolmesLIVE: It actually worked out perfectly.
KatieHolmesLIVE: we were out filming season 3 in April 2001,
KatieHolmesLIVE: and I started Abandon mid April 2001.

KatieHolmesLIVE: I think I would have to be
KatieHolmesLIVE: a heroine in some way,
KatieHolmesLIVE: and I would like to be a funny, flashy character.

Question: What kind of movie is 'Abandon'? and how do you suggest young
Question: people to get a career started in actressing?
KatieHolmesLIVE: Well, Abandon is a psychological thriller
KatieHolmesLIVE: set on a college campus.
KatieHolmesLIVE: It's a very creepy movie,
KatieHolmesLIVE: suspenseful,
KatieHolmesLIVE: and also very poetic.
KatieHolmesLIVE: In terms of starting into acting,
KatieHolmesLIVE: I would say if you are under 18,
KatieHolmesLIVE: finish high school.
KatieHolmesLIVE: take acting classes,
KatieHolmesLIVE: get involved in school plays or musicals,
KatieHolmesLIVE: and if you are very serious about it after you have done
those things,
KatieHolmesLIVE: save up your money,
KatieHolmesLIVE: and hit pick a coast.
